چکیده

Aim: Antibiotic resistance is a major health problem. Recently, probiotics are used in the field of alternative/supportive medicine. Thus, this study, we aimed to evaluate vitro inhibitory effects four different cell-free supernatants (CFSs) lactobacilli species (L. fermentum, L. plantarum, acidophilus and rhamnosus) on clinically isolated Methicilin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains, Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE) Carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella (CRK) strains. Materials Methods: Lactobacillus strains were grown de Man Rogosa Sharpe broth; after filtration, CFSs diluted obtain 25, 50, 100% concentrations. Pathogen bacteria tryptic soy broth with without micro-plate. The bacterial growths measured using spectrophotometric method hours incubation at 37°C. One-way ANOVA followed by Dunnett’s multiple comparisons Kruskal-Wallis test for statistical analyses. Results: All tested all concentrations found inhibit growth MRSA, VRE, CRK strains; results statistically significant (p<0.0001). At 50% concentrations, be most effective MRSA growth. L.fermentum, L.acidophilus L.plantarum concentration VRE L.fermentum CRK. Conclusion: In our support that multi-drug resistant bacteria. Their dependent microorganisms CFS

Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Vancomycin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (VRSA), and Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococci‌ (VRE) contamination of food samples in Iran: A systematic review and meta-analysis

During the last years, antimicrobial resistance has become one of the greatest challenges in clinical settings. Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus are important nosocomial pathogens worldwide. In different corners of the world, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE) have been isolated from various sources including different foods of an...

Distinct but Spatially Overlapping Intestinal Niches for Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococcus faecium and Carbapenem-Resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae

Antibiotic resistance among enterococci and γ-proteobacteria is an increasing problem in healthcare settings. Dense colonization of the gut by antibiotic-resistant bacteria facilitates their spread between patients and also leads to bloodstream and other systemic infections. Antibiotic-mediated destruction of the intestinal microbiota and consequent loss of colonization resistance are critical ...

Prevalence of Vancomycin Resistance in Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus

Background & Aims: Staphylococcus aureus is one of the most common pathogens in nosocomial infections. Vancomycin is the most important therapeutic drug of choice for treatment of infections caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains. Therefore, vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (VRSA) or vancomycin-intermediate Staphylococcus aureus (VISA) strains are warning...

Fecal carriage of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus in healthy children.

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE) present major challenges (1–4). Our objective was to define the frequency of MRSA and VRE fecal carriage in healthy children and their mothers to evaluate potential reservoirs and opportunities for reducing transmission. After approval by the Washington University Human Research Protection Office, info...

Ultrastructural effects of oritavancin on methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus.

The ultrastructural effects of the lipoglycopeptide oritavancin on methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin-resistant enterococcus (VRE) were examined by transmission electron microscopy. Oritavancin but not vancomycin induced aberrant septum formation and loss of staining of nascent septal cross walls in MRSA. Septal distortions were also observed in VRE exposed to ori...
